9PSB boosts tech entrepreneurship at Kano Tech Conference

Nigeria’s digital payment service bank, 9 Payment Service Bank (9PSB), took a significant step in fostering the growth of Information Technology startups by sponsoring the recent Kano TechPrenuer Conference. Held at Meena Event Centre on Lodge Road in Kano, the event served as a platform for tech enthusiasts, entrepreneurs, and innovators to converge, exchange ideas, and explore emerging trends within the digital space.

Organized by IMH Global under the theme “Empowering Tomorrow: Innovating in the Digital Space,” the conference aimed to facilitate networking opportunities and share insights to bolster innovation and entrepreneurship. During the event, Akeem Salam, Group Head of Business Development and Strategy at 9PSB, underscored the transformative power of technology across various sectors, particularly in finance and banking.

Salam emphasized how digitalization has revolutionized banking services, paving the way for the emergence of financial technology companies and payment service banks. He highlighted 9PSB’s commitment to bridging the gap in financial inclusion through tailored products and services, including virtual accounts, the Bank9ja mobile app, USSD services, PoS services, agency banking, and bills payment.

In addition to providing seamless payment services, Salam noted 9PSB’s mandate from the Central Bank of Nigeria to drive financial literacy among Nigerians, which the bank fulfills through its diverse services and programs. He encouraged attendees to remain focused and committed to their careers and businesses, emphasizing the importance of supporting startups and tech initiatives for societal impact.

The Kano TechPrenuer Conference, an annual gathering of tech enthusiasts, brought together professionals ranging from IT consultants to social media marketers to foster collaboration, upskilling, and innovation within Kano State’s tech entrepreneurial ecosystem.
