The Board of Eko Electricity Distribution Company (Eko DisCo) has confirmed Mrs. Rekhiat Momoh as its Chief Executive Officer, following a period of sustained operational and financial improvement under her leadership.
Mrs. Momoh, who served as Acting CEO since March 2024, oversaw a sharp reduction in Aggregated Technical, Commercial, and Collection (ATC&C) losses, from 30.87 percent in February 2024 to 10.51 percent in March 2024, and achieved 100 percent collection efficiency on ₦38.7 billion by April 2025.
These results strengthened liquidity and positioned Eko DisCo as one of Nigeria’s most efficient power distributors.
“The confirmation reflects our confidence in the consistency of results delivered under Mrs. Momoh’s leadership,” said Mr. Oritsedere Otubu, Chairman of Eko DisCo’s Board. “She has demonstrated a disciplined approach to governance, operational planning, and market engagement. This continuity supports our broader goal of building a financially sustainable and service-focused distribution business..”
Eko DisCo’s recent progress combines process reform with technology. In October 2024, it launched the All-in-One Customer Experience platform, integrating billing, payments, and service requests into a single system. The platform improved transparency and reduced complaints, earning the company the Best Customer Care (Electricity Distribution) award at the West Africa Innovation Awards.
Mrs. Momoh was also named Energy Times Power Sector CEO of the Year and recognised among Nigeria’s Top 50 Performing CEOs, acknowledgements grounded in verified performance outcomes.
With nearly three decades in Nigeria’s electricity industry, Mrs. Momoh has served across NEPA, PHCN, and Eko DisCo, holding senior roles including Chief Commercial Officer and General Manager (Commercial). She holds an MBA in Marketing from Lagos State University and is a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM) and the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN).
