Cordros Capital Limited, one of Nigeria’s leading financial services groups in the capital market space, has officially commissioned a newly renovated and fully equipped Home Economics Laboratory at Falomo Junior High School, Ikoyi, Lagos.
The commissioning which was held in Lagos recently, is part of the company’s 2025 Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative aimed at fostering quality education and empowering the younger generation. This project was undertaken to transform the previously dilapidated facility once devoid of essential equipment into a modern, functional, and hands-on learning environment for students.
Before the renovation, the laboratory was in a poor state, with no furniture, utensils or other resources for practical training, making it unsuitable for effective learning. Cordros Capital took on the project to bridge this gap, ensuring that students now have access to modern-day tools and a conducive space for skill acquisition in line with contemporary educational standards.
The commissioning ceremony brought together key stakeholders from both Cordros Capital and Falomo Junior High School. Representing the Group Managing Director of Cordros Capital Limited, Wale Agbeyangi, was Adegbolahan Aina, Managing Director of Cordros Asset Management Limited. Also present were Nkechi Ofoegbu, Head of Corporate Services at Cordros Capital; Mrs. Bamidele, Principal of Falomo Junior High School (represented by Mrs. Shittu of Ireti Junior Grammar School); and Mrs. Osho, Principal of Falomo Senior High School.
In his remarks, Adegbolahan Aina reaffirmed the company’s dedication to community impact: “For us at Cordros, we have always supported this sort of initiative because children are the future, and obviously, you need a conducive environment to teach and learn well. We embarked on this project to create a conducive learning environment for these students, and we are incredibly proud that we have achieved this through this project. We hope other organisations can collaborate with these schools for more development.”
Mrs. Shittu, speaking on behalf of the Principal of Falomo Junior High School, expressed deep gratitude to Cordros Capital, noting that several of the new facilities had never before existed in the school. Previously, students had been forced to rely on the personal equipment of the Home Economics teacher for practical lessons.
The students themselves shared their joy with heartfelt thanks and prayers, many of them struggling to decide which part of the upgraded laboratory excited them most.
Cordros Capital remains committed to driving meaningful change through sustainable initiatives that touch lives and promote growth. As the organisation continues to grow, so too will its investments in education, youth empowerment, and community advancement.
