Consumers Value Award is a platform that enables consumers to be heard. It gives voice to the consumers to ensure that brands deliver on their brand promises.
This year’s event held at Radisson blu, GRA, Ikeja, Lagos was with the theme: “Empowering Consumers”.
In his keynote address, Akonte Ekine, Lead Strategist, Absolute PR Limited and CEO, BrandXchange, organiser of CVA noted that, “Empowering Consumers,” is a call to action and a reflection of the pivotal role every consumer plays in today’s economy.
“Over the past months, we have seen the heartbeat of this empowerment in full display. Following one month of nominations and three months of voting, you—the consumers—have made your voices heard, endorsing the brands that have stood the test of trust, quality, and value.
“Tonight, we celebrate brands that have listened to the voice of the consumer, adapted to their needs, and delivered exceptional value,” Ekine said, adding that: “These brands have shown that they care about their customers and are committed to continuously improving their products and services.”
Ekine pointed that, empowering the consumer is a shared responsibility. It is about ensuring that brands listen, adapt, and respect the opinions of those they serve.
“As brands, we must understand that the consumer’s experience is not just about the product or service—it’s about trust, communication, and transparency. Brands are not just competing for market share; they are competing for the loyalty, respect, and confidence of consumers,” he said.
On his part, Governor Sanwo-Olu, who was represented by the General manager, Lagos State Consumers Protection Agency (LASCOPA), Afolabi Solebo, highlighted the importance of safeguarding consumer rights and promoting value for all citizens in the state.
“We will continue to work tirelessly to ensure that businesses operate fairly and transparently, and that consumers have access to quality products and services,” Sanwo-Olu said.
